Susan (McHardy) Lenoir was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota.  She earned a BFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and continued her education at the University of Minnesota where she received a post-baccalaureate certification in Elementary Education.

Susan started painting seriously in 2004.  She works exclusively in watercolor and has studied with Marianne K. Brown, Mira M. White, Eleanor Cox, Carolyn Emerson,
Shelly Bechtel Shepherd, Barbara Thelen,  Jillian Warner and Rudi Racenis Winebrenner.

Susan was juried into the Bon Air Artists Association as an Exhibiting Member October 2008.

When she's not painting, Susan is busy enjoying and trying to keep up with her three young children.  She doesn't try to keep up with her husband Martin, who spends his free time training for triathlons.  They slow down for date night once a week.
